Dear Friends,
YICT's rapid growth epitomises the progress of Shenzhen, and even of China under the government's policies of reform and opening up to the outside world. As a pioneer joint venture in the country, YICT early worked out a new operating mode by adopting leading-edge equipment and technology, and advanced management experience at the beginning of its operations. This open-minded philosophy has enabled the magic land of Yantian including Shenzhen to achieve outstanding success in a shorter period than others.
Compared with ten years ago, we are not simply satisfied with high efficiency and advanced equipment today. We have incorporated service standards, customer value and economic contributions into our corporate mission. We have tried to provide customers with a more efficient logistics chain by making a breakthrough in traditional port operation and management. We want our customers to enjoy both efficiency and cost effectiveness at Yantian. We have learnt from outstanding world-class companies to build a corporate culture which encourages constant process innovation and challenge. Our goal is to keep leading the industry.
We are thinking about how to serve our customers and contribute to society over the next five years, ten years and beyond. YICT commenced construction of the Expansion Project in 2005, which includes six container berths. Equipped with more than 100 leading-edge cranes, the project is expected to be completed by 2010. Upon completion, the project will not only cope with customers' future demands, but also provide a stronger momentum for economic development in the Pearl River Delta.
I hope that by visiting this website, you too will appreciate all the miracles that have happened here in the development of YICT. Over the past decade, friends from various social circles have extended their courtesy and support to us at YICT. Our two thousand and more employees have been working hard and passionately for the port and for Shenzhen.
I'd like to take this opportunity to personally thank you all. I hope that you'll continue to support YICT's future development.
