Port Entry Procedures
Yantian port is a frontier area which is under both the Frontier Inspection management and Customs jurisdictions. All people and vehicles require permission to enter YICT. Detailed procedures are as below.

People
"Accompanying Vehicle Training Pass"
Drivers for those trucking companies which have registered with YICT who need to be a familiar with the terminal are required to obtain an "Accompanying Vehicle Training Pass". They shall show the pass when entering the terminal for training. This pass is valid for two months.

Collect an application form from YICT Safety and Security Dept. (SSD), or download it from www.yict.com.cn.

Port Community Card (PCC)
Container trucks entering the terminal shall present a PCC.

Notice for Safe Driving
Equipped with a lot of cranes, YICT is a busy port. Thus, the terminal has high requirements on driving skills. To ensure safety, you are requested to bear in mind the following rules while driving.

Entering / Leaving a Gatehouse
Please slow down when entering a gatehouse. Please drive in an indicated lane when leaving a gatehouse. For an empty container leaving a gatehouse, the left door of the container shall be opened and fastened to avoid wounding people and damaging facilities.

Maximum height and width limit in the entry gatehouses: 5 and 3 metres respectively. Maximum height and width limit in the exit gatehouses: 4.5 and 3 metres respectively. Maximum height and width limit for empty chassis in the exit gatehouses: 3.8 and 3.0 metres respectively. Maximum height limit in the side entrance and administration gate: 3.8 metres. Over-sized cargo shall, subject to approval of YICT Gatehouses, enter or leave the terminal via specified lanes. If necessary, ask the Control Tower to lead the truck.

No reversing in the gatehouses.

Parking Lot
Park your truck properly in a parking space. Do not park in passageways.

A truck is not allowed to have a long stay in the terminal without the approval of the Duty Manager.

Trucks Driving in the Container Yard
Comply with Measures of YICT on External Truck Management.

The maximum speed: 40 km/hr.

Slow down or stop to look when yielding while crossing crossroads. The speed limit at the crossroads is 20 km/hr.

Give way to movable cranes, including yard gantry cranes. Follow the instructions of on-site operators.

Drive and park your truck according to traffic signs and lines.

Speed limit at the gatehouses is 10 km/hr.

Definition of Container Yards
The terminal container yard is divided into two parts. The yard under Customs supervision is regarded as the main yard, while the one beyond Customs supervision is the DP yard, including DP1 and PR2 yards.

Other yards which have agreements with YICT are defined as "external yards".

The names "RTGC yard" and "Eagle yard" come from the operation machines used in therespective yards. Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes are used in the RTGC yard. Front loaders (also called Eagles) are used in the Eagle yard. Laden containers, some empty containers, and damaged containers are stacked in the RTGC area, while empty containers are stacked in the Eagle yard.

Administration of Traffic Rule Violations
Traffic is very busy at the terminal. Please visit www.yict.com.cn to see the disciplinary actions taken if you break traffic rules, including driving in the wrong direction, illegal parking, dangerous driving, and not closing the container properly.
