Yantian West Port Expansion Project Starts Construction

On 25 August, a groundbreaking ceremony was organised at Yantian West Port to mark the beginning of construction of the expansion project. The project includes the expansion of an existing berth and construction of three new container berths. Upon completion, the terminal will have a total quay length of 1, 142 metres and a water depth alongside of 15 metres, capable of accommodating 6,630-TEU container vessels.

The project is listed as Shenzhen's top ten infrastructure projects for 2010 and is also one of the key projects in Guangdong Province.

Shantou-Yantian Feeder Service Calls at YICT

On 28 August, YICT welcomed a Shantou-Yantian shuttle feeder service operated by Shantou Pingye Shipping Co., Ltd.. The service calls at YICT every Friday and caters to manufacturers in Shantou. Shippers are now able to benefit from the convenience and cost-effectiveness of batch transport and batch customs declaration.

CCTV Heart-to-Heart Art Troupe Performs at YICT

YICT was chosen as one of the three venues to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. The China Central Television "Heart-to-Heart" Art Troupe staged performances at Berth No. 3 of Yantian West Port on 20 August. YICT employees joined the Art Troupe artists in their celebrations of the special occasion.
