As a branch of the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) Shenzhen, MSA Yantian is responsible for the seas of Dapeng Bay west of Shenzhen, including Yantian Port. Owing to busy marine traffic at the Port, frequent inbound and outbound international vessels as well as the changeable weather at sea, MSA Yantian is also responsible for marine traffic safety and the prevention of pollution by ships in these waters. As sea-police, MSA Yantian not only strictly executes the letter of the law, but also provides quality service. With ever-increasing marine traffic and shipping services, MSA Yantian is committed to maintaining an orderly and clean environment to facilitate the development of the port and shipping industry.
In addition to keeping its law enforcement and management in line with international standards, MSA Yantian has developed a computer management system linked to YICT and relevant organisations, making it possible to handle the declaration of dangerous goods via this system. To reduce the time vessels are required to remain berthed at the terminal, MSA Yantian has implemented a Credit Management system for vessels. Their safety records will be computerised and vessels with good records will receive a 'Quality Vessel' rating and will enjoy inspection immunity for a fixed period.
Business Scope MSA Yantian is responsible for internal issues, including administration, permits and punishments, and also external matters including on-site supervision and patrol. They also provide the port and shipping industry with one-stop marine services. All business is processed at the declaration windows.
