Using leading-edge computer management systems and equipment, YICT provides customers with effective and efficient terminal operations. All procedures involving containers moving in and out of the terminal are completed under three major sections: berth allocation, yard planning and gatehouse management.
1. Vessel Arrival A. Confirmation
- Shipping lines provide YICT with advance notice of monthly vessel schedules.
- YICT collects all the monthly vessel schedules.
- YICT adjusts the terminal operations system according to the vessel schedules.
- Shipping lines provide YICT with up-to-date information about cut-off-times for receiving containers, discharge ports, voyages and vessels.
- YICT updates and confirms the terminal operations systems according to the requirements of shipping lines.
B. Berth Allocation
- Shipping lines or agents provide the terminal with advance notice of arrival times, and loading and unloading quantities.
- YICT provides on-site operators with berth allocation plans.
- YICT notifies shipping lines and agents of berth allocation plans.
- YICT provides Customs, Frontier Inspection, Pilotage and other related parties with berth allocation plans.
2. Container Yard Allocation
- Container Yard (CY) operators arrange allocation of containers in the yard. The Control Tower will deploy equipment accordingly.
- CY operators determine the equipment and tools required to handle the containers and arrange for them to be ready and waiting on¨Csite.
- CY operators notify yard personnel and drivers to make preparations and deploy the front-loaders and RTGCs.
- Truck drivers deliver containers to the designated area in the CY as per instructions.
- RTGC drivers stack containers into the assigned area.
- CY operators confirm with truck drivers that hand-over is complete.
3. Trucks Enter and Leave the Terminal Entering the Terminal
- External empty chassis, to carry newly arrived cargo, enter the terminal's CY.
- Drivers obtain Container Movement Slips (CMS), indicating the containers location, from the CMS office.
- Drivers receive containers at the designated location in the CY.
- Drivers have containers checked and pay service charges at the exit gatehouses, as they leave.

Leaving the Terminal Arriving trucks have containers checked before entering terminal. Drivers obtain CMS at the CMS office, indicating container placement area. Drivers take containers to designated area as per CMS. Drivers submit CMS and related documents to Exit Gatehouse and obtain an EIR. Trucks leave Exit Gatehouse.
 Remarks:
- CMS contains information about container owner, number and location.
- CMS office is where fees are paid and the CMS is issued.
