YICT Receives Maiden Call of UASC’s Largest Containership Sajir

The 14,500-TEU Sajir calls at Yantian

On 29 December 2014, YICT welcomed the inaugural call of the 14,500-TEU Sajir, UASC’s largest ever container vessel. The vessel, measuring 368 metres long and 51 metres wide, is the first of the liner’s A5 series. The Sajir is compatible to LNG connection so as to enable hybrid operation. This is a pioneering case in the industry.

The Sajir is operating on AEX1W loop, calling at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Port Kelang, Suez Canal, Felixstowe, Hamburg , Rotterdam and Zeebrugge. During its maiden call at YICT, 3,683 containers were handled.
