On 14 September, YICT welcomed the maiden call of the Kaimoku, marking the launch of the China – Long Beach Express 2 (CLX2) service operated by Matson Navigation Company, Inc. The new service will provide a fast lane from South China to California, taking only 14 days to reach Long Beach.

Matson deployed five 3,720 TEU container vessels to the CLX2 service, calling at Hong Kong, Yantian, Shanghai and Long Beach. Matson, headquartered in US, is the 38th international ocean carrier that has established business partnership with YICT. The CLX2 service is the first one of Matson's shipping services calling at YICT. As Matson said, by using this service, consignees can pick up the containers the second day after the vessel arrives in California. In addition, the Matson Integrated Logistics, one of Matson's subsidiaries, provides one-stop multimodal transportation services in the US market.
