YICT Berth #16 was officially put into operation. With a quay length of 886 metres and water-depth alongside of 17.6 metres, the new berth is equipped with eight quay cranes, four of which are dual-hoist cranes.
On 11 April 2017, YICT welcomed the first feeder of the Zhanjiang-Yantian Service. This marked the launch of the second service connecting Yantian and Southwest China, following the first feeder service between Yantian and Qinzhou in Guangxi province.
On 15 April 2017, the world’s largest container vessel in service, MOL Triumph, called at YICT on her maiden voyage. With a capacity of 20,170 TEU, MOL Triumph is the world’s first 20,000 TEU-class container vessel to come on stream.
On 29 March 2017, China Ports and Harbours Association (CPHA) held its annual general meeting and presented a number of awards to outstanding terminal operators. YICT received five prestigious awards for its performance in 2016.
