On 20 July 2004, "MSC ANS" made its inaugural visit to Yantian to commence a new Asia-America service named Golden Gate Pendulum (GGP). The service is operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A.(MSC).
MSC has deployed seven 3,000-4,000 TEU vessels on the service. GGP calls at Yantian every Saturday with the rotation of Tokyo, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Yantian, Ningbo, Tokyo, Manzanillo (Maxico), Freeport (Bahamas), Miami, New York, Savannah, Freeport (Bahamas), Manzanillo (Maxico) and Tokyo.
