YANTIAN Takes Delivery of New Terminal Equipment

YANTIAN received the first batch of newly purchased equipment in 2023, including the latest feeder quay cranes and remote-controlled RTGCs, which are expected to significantly drive operational efficiency of the port.
Introduction
Back in 2020, YANTIAN pioneered the use of remote-controlled quay cranes and RTGCs in Chinese ports. Subsequently, we spent CNY500 million to purchase 40 remote-controlled RTGCs and renovate the yard. The remaining 24 remote-controlled RTGCs will be delivered in the next 3 years.
Compared with the traditional RTGC, the remote-controlled RTGC has the following advantages:
■ Higher operational efficiency: It is 20% faster than manual operation
■ More convenient operation: Multiple machines can be operated simultaneously
■ More comfortable working environment: The operator only needs to operate the cranes from the remote control center
■ Much safer performance: It is featured with advanced visual recognition and safety protection system.
Lightweight quay cranes dedicatedly designed for feeders
■ Capacity assurance: With the rapid growth of feeder services, we spent CNY50 million to purchase 2 new feeder quay cranes.
■ Compact and flexible: More precise alignment can be realised, greatly improving the efficiency of feeder operation
In the next 3 years, we will invest nearly CNY3 billion to purchase 81 remote-controlled quay cranes, RTGCs, rail-mounted cranes, and other advanced automation equipment to improve productivity and make the port more intelligent.
