On November 12, a train carrying "Made-in-Chengdu" products—ranging from electrical components and lighting equipment to auto parts—departed from Chengdu, marking the upgrade of YANTIAN's Chengdu-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-Sea Service from one to two departures per week. The cargoes reach YANTIAN in Shenzhen within two days, with part of the shipment transferred by feeder services to Hong Kong's Kwai Tsing Port in just six hours. Upon arrival at YANTIAN or Kwai Tsing, the cargoes are seamlessly transshipped onto international vessels bound for more than 200 countries.

The increased service frequency reflects both surging market demand and a continually refined service experience. As a vital logistics corridor connecting Southwest China with the Greater Bay Area, the Chengdu-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-Sea Service has won huge market recognition since its debut on May 28 this year, owing to its highly reliable model of scheduled timetables, fixed stops, stable route, transparent pricing, and dedicated train services.

In response to this momentum, YANTIAN accelerated the frequency upgrade. Together with the four weekly Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-Sea Services, the enhanced rail-sea service network is better positioned to support the region's growing trade flows, providing inland enterprises with a dependable, resilient gateway to global markets, further reducing logistics uncertainty for Sichuan exporters and elevating the global competitiveness of "Made-in-Chengdu" products.

Core Advantages of the Chengdu-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-Sea Service
🆙Significantly enhanced efficiency: The service not only offers a stable and reliable departure schedule, but also cuts the Chengdu–YANTIAN transit time from six days to just two, with cargo reaching Hong Kong's Kwai Tsing Port in just three days.
🆙Extensive global reach: Cargoes can be dispatched from YANTIAN and Kwai Tsing to more than 200 countries and regions around the world.
🆙A stable, low-carbon export channel: The service provides Chengdu's international trade enterprises with a more reliable, efficient, and low-carbon channel to the global market, strengthening three-way connectivity and mutual benefit among Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.

YANTIAN hosts the most extensive network of Europe- and North America-bound services in South China. Many shipping companies designate YANTIAN as their last port-of-call in South China on these major trade routes, leveraging its strengths of high-frequency, extensive, faster, high-efficiency services, including transit times as short as 12.5 days to the US and 11 days to Australia.

Kwai Tsing Port, with its strong focus on Asia and South America services, offers the largest number of such services in the Greater Bay Area. Together, the two ports provide comprehensive global coverage. Six daily feeder services between YANTIAN and Kwai Tsing create seamless connectivity, accelerating the flow of Sichuan cargoes to global markets. This integrated "inland terminal to seaport" pathway enables "Made-in-Chengdu" products to reach the world with greater speed and stability.

Smooth logistics prospers trade, and thriving trade fuels industrial growth. The Chengdu-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-Sea Service is a concrete step toward implementing the Resolution of the Third Plenary Session, which explicitly calls for leveraging the institutional strengths of "One Country, Two Systems" and further consolidating Hong Kong's position as an international centre for finance, shipping, and trade.

The successful operation of both the Chengdu–Shenzhen–Hong Kong and Chongqing–Shenzhen–Hong Kong scheduled rail-sea services is inseparable from the 32-year history of feeder cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. YANTIAN has long been deepening Shenzhen–Hong Kong collaboration, working closely with Hong Kong's Kwai Tsing Port to strengthen seamless connectivity across domestic and international markets. The volume of containers transported by feeder services between YANTIAN and Hong Kong has maintained steady annual growth; after reaching a record high in loaded container moves last year, volumes continued to rise by 7% from January to October this year.

This demonstrates the strong complementarity and mutual support between YANTIAN and Hong Kong. Their cooperation not only delivers shared benefits for both cities but also provides stable and efficient logistics channels for international trade enterprises across the Greater Bay Area and China's inland regions. It ensures that rail-sea cargo can be smoothly integrated into global shipping networks.

4.jpg03 Recognized for National Excellence for Two Years, with a Continuously Expanding Network

The Ministry of Transport, the National Railway Administration, and China Railway recently released the 2025 Exemplary Cases of Developing Container Rail-Sea Intermodal Brand Services. Among them, YANTIAN's "Liling–YANTIAN" rail–sea service was recognised as one of ten national exemplary cases—and notably, the only service from Guangdong Province to make the list. This marks another milestone of national recognition for YANTIAN's rail–sea service, following the inclusion of the Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Scheduled Rail-Sea Service in November last year.

YANTIAN is home to Shenzhen's only railway with direct port access, and its rail-sea service volumes have grown for six consecutive years. The steady expansion of this network has created a solid foundation for the rapid global deployment of "Intelligent manufacturing in China." Since the start of this year, YANTIAN has added nine new inland ports, extending its coverage across South China, Central China, and Southwest China, bringing inland enterprises the true convenience of having a "port at their doorstep." Through its streamlined "factory-to-port direct connection" model, YANTIAN enables international trade enterprises to access global markets with greater speed, certainty, and supply chain resilience.

Today, YANTIAN's inland service network comprises 26 inland ports and 34 rail-sea services, complemented by 15 port alliances in the Greater Bay Area and 17 feeder services, forming a broad, highly coordinated multimodal logistics system.

Studies show that rail transport reduces carbon emissions per unit of freight turnover by up to 90% compared to road. A fully loaded sea-rail intermodal train to YANTIAN can replace around 100 container trucks, making a significant impact in reducing environmental pollution and safety risks, lowering energy consumption, easing road congestion, optimising the transport structure, and supporting China's dual-carbon goals.

As the world's only port to have received the "Best Green Container Terminal" award four times, YANTIAN continues to champion clean energy, promote low-carbon transport standards, strengthen its brand as a green channel, and help enterprises reduce the environmental footprint of cross-border logistics, advancing both sustainability and export competitiveness.

YANTIAN remains committed to facilitating the efficient movement of international trade cargo, supporting Shenzhen's drive to build a g logistics hub with global influence, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as an international shipping and trading centre, jointly elevating the Greater Bay Area's overall competitiveness, and contributing to the achievement of dual-carbon goals and the high-quality development of international trade in China.
