Launched in 2021, the "Building World-Class Ports" nationwide leading labour and skills competition is one of the most influential national initiatives in China's port sector. In 2025, following a comprehensive review of competition outcomes, the organizing committee conducted a rigorous multi-stage selection process involving nominations, evaluations, and expert deliberations, ultimately recognizing 25 Outstanding Teams and 25 Outstanding Individuals, among other exemplary awardees.

The Outstanding Individual award was conferred on Zhang Cailong, a key technical expert and management leader in YANTIAN's Engineering Department. With many years of experience in port engineering maintenance, Zhang combines exceptional technical proficiency with strong leadership. In 2025, he won First Prize at the Shenzhen Skills Competition—Yantian District Engineering Machinery Maintenance (Port Lifting Equipment). Beyond personal achievement, he mentors younger technicians, leading his team to resolve a series of complex equipment maintenance challenges and ensuring the safe, stable, and efficient operation of port cranes and cargo-handling systems. During port construction projects and the commissioning of automated equipment, Zhang has consistently enforced rigorous safety and quality standards, guiding his team in overcoming persistent technical issues and contributing solid engineering expertise to the upgrading of infrastructure at a world-class hub port.
