Yantian Frontier Inspection has achieved another breakthrough in digital innovation. Two technology applications independently developed by the station have officially passed the national Computer Software Copyright Registration program and received certificates issued by the National Copyright Administration, marking another significant milestone in the advancement of smart frontier inspection.
Gate Information Management System
As one of the world's largest single container terminals, Yantian Port handles nearly 2,000 international vessel calls every month, with more than 600,000 people entering and leaving the port area monthly. It also provides services to over 300 enterprises, including shipping agencies, terminal operators, ship repair companies, and ship supply providers. To further standardise the management of restricted port areas and facilitate the efficient movement of personnel, vehicles, and cargo throughout the port, Yantian Frontier Inspection aligned its efforts with operational and industrial development needs by independently developing the gate information management system. The system enables automatic verification of access credentials, real-time alerts for abnormal activities, and closed-loop management with full-process data traceability. Whereas gate access information previously had to be checked manually—a time-consuming and labour-intensive process—the new system now completes automatic verification within milliseconds, significantly improving gate clearance efficiency. This, in turn, supports the vigorous growth of port-related industries and enables closer alignment between high-quality frontier inspection services and the development needs of industries operating in the port area.
Vessel Risk Warning System
As a world-class shipping hub, Yantian Port is served by an extensive shipping network, with more than 100 international shipping services operating each week. The high volume of vessel traffic and the diverse risk factors at the port pose increasing challenges for frontier inspection. To further strengthen port risk prevention and control and improve the graded inspection mechanism for seaports, Yantian Frontier Inspection independently developed the vessel risk warning system. The system integrates big data analytics with risk warning algorithms, bringing together multidimensional data resources, including vessel tracking data, crew movement information, historical boarding records, and integrity records of port-related enterprises. Through intelligent algorithms, it automatically generates risk profiles to support vessel risk alerts and targeted inspections. Since its launch, the system has assisted police officers in conducting more than 10,000 data screening operations, increased risk alert response speed by nearly 70%, and significantly improved the accuracy of risk analysis as well as the efficiency of law enforcement and frontier inspection operations.
