On 29 April 2011, YICT held a group rope-skipping competition to celebrate the upcoming May Day and welcome the Shenzhen Universiade in August 2011. A total of 20 teams consisting of over 200 staff members took part in the contest. Finally, a team from the Operation Services and Development Department won the first place. A team from the Phase III Development Department came the second, and a joint team consisting of members from the Engineering Department and the Corporate Communication & Development Department won the third place.
