Shenzhen's Relief Supplies Shipped to Taiwan via YICT

A total of 14 Forty-foot Equivalent Unit (FEU) containers of pre-fabricated houses were shipped from Yantian to Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 17 August 2009. These relief supplies were provided by the Shenzhen Government to aid typhoon Morakot victims in Taiwan.

The pre-fabricated houses will be shipped in batches to Taiwan. And COSCO and Yang Ming provide shipping services for these supplies.

The first batch of supplies was carried by Yang Ming Vancouver, one of the vessels deployed to the Pacific South West 2 (PSW2) Service. The service calls at Yantian every Sunday, taking about 14 hours from Yantian to Kaohsiung.

Zheng Lizhong, Vice Director of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Wang Rong, Acting Mayor of Shenzhen, Li Yizhen, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shenzhen Committee, Zhuo Qinrui, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Xu Lirong, Executive Vice President of COSCO Group, Wang Zhaoxuan, Executive Vice President of Yang Ming, Zheng Hongjie, Chairman of the Board of Shenzhen Yantian Port Group, and Hai Chiyuet, Managing Director of YICT are present at the event to send off the first batch of shipment of relief supplies.
