On 18 March 2008, YICT began a collaborative environmental protection and education programme with Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-Sen University, one of China's most respected centres of higher learning.
The first round of activities, entitled "Bringing an Environmental Protection Culture to Campus", includes recycling and energy-saving programmes, an artwork exhibition, various forums, and a competition between green logistics proposals. The goal is to improve students' knowledge about energy conservation in daily life and on environmental protection for the logistics industry.
YICT's collaboration with Sun Yat-Sen University is only the latest of a number of successful cooperative programmes between the company and universities. In 2007, YICT participated in practice programmes with Shenzhen University and Dalian Maritime University to help build students' knowledge of ports and logistics.
