On 23 October 2007, the Container Branch of the China Ports Association announced the results of the 2006-2007 China Port Operators Review at the China Container Ports Summit. For the fourth year in a row, YICT won the "First Place, Top 10 Container Terminals in China" distinction, indicating the terminal's excellent performance.

Since 2004, the Association has organised the Annual Port Operators Review as a way to appraise the performance of China's container terminals – particularly the 83 facilities that make up the Association, which account for 91 per cent of China's port traffic. This year, a total of 73 Chinese container port operators took part in the event.

The appraisal panel closely reviewed and assessed the participants in terms of throughput, operational rates and other related criteria, then selected the top ten performers. YICT once again clinched the number-one spot. The terminal also received other distinctions, winning awards for vessel productivity, single vessel productivity, quay crane rate, and comprehensive indexes.

In 2006, YICT's annual throughput was 8.865 million TEU. Furthermore, the facility is continually upgrading its capacity and services through measures such as a terminal expansion, new equipment purchases, and programmes for increasing productivity.
