On 26 September 2003, YICT received the fifth annual "Shenzhen Major Law-abiding Taxpayer" award from the People's Government of Shenzhen Municipality, after a strict screening process by the city's selection committee. This is the third time YICT has received the honour.
YICT has been paying taxes according to the laws for years. The amount of taxes paid has been on a rise each year, making YICT a strong contributor to local economic development. YICT has continuously been recognised with titles including "One of the Top Ten Taxpayers in Yantian", "The Third & Fourth Shenzhen Major Law-abiding Taxpayers" and "The Creditable Tax-payer of Guangdong Province in 2002". YICT's rapid development has spurred on related industries including shipping, warehousing, financing and export processing. The overall investment has boosted the growth of local tax revenue.
Officials from the State Administration of Taxation, the National Bureau Taxation of Guangdong Province, Administration of Local Taxation of Shenzhen and Shenzhen Municipal Government attended the ceremony. Mr. Xu Yunguo, Deputy General Manager, received the award plaque on behalf of YICT.
