Grand Alliance Launches a New US-East Coast Service at Yantian

On 11 June 2003, Grand Alliance began its East Coast Express 2 (ECX2), a US-Eastcoast Service, at Yantian with the deployment of five vessels. The new service calls at Yantian every other Wednesday and has the route Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Panama, Savannah, Charleston, Norfolk, Panama and Shanghai. The 195.68 meter long inaugural vessel, “OOCL Harmony,” has a shipping capacity of 2,959TEU. The addition of ECX2 brings the number of US services calling at YICT to 34.
