On 18 May 2003, Maersk Sealand commenced its TP3 US-Eastcoast Service at YICT. “Margrethe Maersk”, the inaugural vessel, is 290 metres long with a shipping capacity of 4,297 TEU. The new service calls at Yantian every Sunday with the rotation of Yokohama, Kobe, Yantian, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Yokohama, Balboa, Manzanillo, Miami, Charleston, Norfolk and Newark.
