G6 Alliance Launches Five Asia-Europe Services at YICT

On 13 March, YICT welcomed the newly formed G6 Alliance with the call of HMM Vancouver. The G6 Alliance members are the carriers in the Grand Alliance and New World Alliance: APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Mitsui O.S.K Lines (MOL), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).

To roll out its competitive products in the Asia-Europe market, the alliance has launched five loops and deployed 30 vessels with capacities between 4,890 TEU and 11,250 TEU. The five loops, all covering Yantian, are Loop4 Westbound (LP4W), Loop5 Westbound (LP5W), Loop7 Westbound (LP7W), Loop4 Eastbound (LP4E) and Loop7 Eastbound (LP7E).

On 14 March, the Hyundai Together running on the LP4W service made her first call at Yantian. The vessel, which is 366.5 metres long and has a capacity of 13,000 TEU, is the largest in HMM's fleet. More than 2,500 containers were loaded during its call.
