On 24 November 2016, YICT took delivery of eight new electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGCs).

On 24 November 2016, YICT took delivery of eight new electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGCs). The new 1-over-6 RTGCs each have 41-tons lifting capacity.

These new RTGCs are equipped with the latest power system, which allows them to run on electricity via trolley sliding contact wires or via a hybrid system using lithium batteries, enhancing operational flexibility and ensuring lighter carbon footprints.

The new RTGCs will come into operation in December, serving YICT Phase III Expansion’s 1-over-6 RTGC container yard. They will help relieve the need for 1-over-6 RTGCs and boost container handling efficiency.
