On 28 July 2006, Evergreen launched a new Middle East service (APG) at YICT. After nine-hour operations, the first vessel - "Uni-Popular", departed YICT. It will approximately arrive at Bandar Abbas Port, Iran on 11 August.
Evergreen deploys a total of five vessels on the APG service, which follows a port rotation of Kaoshiung, Taichung, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Colombo, Dubai, Bandar Abbas, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong and Kaohsiung.
The new service will considerably help shippers specialising in exports to the South-East Asia and the Middle East. During the peak season, there will be more and more shipping lines launching new services calling at Yantian.
