On the afternoon of June 10, 2002, Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) began a promotional series for safety month. The general theme of these productions is "Bearing Safety Knowledge in Mind". At the opening ceremony, Mr. Liu Nengfang, Assistant General Manager of YICT, called upon the staff to increase its safety awareness while providing customers with professional terminal service. Mr. Liu explained that it has always been YICT's priority to guarantee a safe and efficient operational environment.
Following the opening speech at the ceremony, attendants happily chose to sign their names in support of the promotion. YICT employees then explored the many different modules of the Safety Knowledge Exhibition, which was jointly presented by YICT's four departments and 15 sub-contractors. Throughout the upcoming month, more promotions will be introduced. Among these are the Safety Knowledge Seminar; the Safety Knowledge Contest, for company staff and sub-contractors; the Safety Knowledge Quiz, and Fire-fighting Training for Management.
In addition, YICT's "National Safety Operation Week", traditionally held every May, has been revised as the "National Safety Operation Month", and, as of this year, will run every June to further promote safety.
