On 12 November 2017, the 11,923-TEU “KOTA PAHLAWAN”, the largest container vessel of Pacific International Lines (PIL), made its inaugural call at Hutchison Ports Yantian (Yantian).

Measuring 330 metres long, 48.2 metres wide and with a draft of 16 metres, the vessel is the first of the twelve 11,800-TEU-class vessels under PIL’s fleet to come on stream. It is deployed on the Far East - US SEA service, following a rotation of Xiamen-Nansha-Hong Kong-Yantian-Long Beach-Xiamen.

Yantian and PIL jointly held a ceremony at Berth X to commemorate the inaugural call of the new vessel and celebrate the long-standing partnership between the two parties. Edward Tang, Operation Director of Hutchison Ports Yantian, was present at the event.
