On 12 June 2007, YICT officially signed an "Environmental Initiatives" Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Port of Long Beach (POLB), California, becoming the first terminal operator in Shenzhen to affect an international accord of cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
To celebrate World Environment Day on 5 June, YICT launched its first Environmental Awareness Promotion Week. During this week, a series of functions will be held to promote environmental protection within the port area.
On 25 May 2007, the Labour Union of YICT held its first members' representatives convention, in which the first Committee and the first Funds Auditing Committee were elected by the votes of 141 members' representatives.
On 24 May 2007, YICT welcomed a new South Africa service, the Far East-Africa Express (FAX) Service, jointly operated by COSCO and Evergreen.
On 23 May 2007, Evergreen launched a new US service at Yantian, the U.S. West Coast-Asia-Mediterranean Service Westbound (UAMW). It is Evergreen's second service to call at Yantian in just ten days.
On 14 May 2007, Evergreen's new European product, the China-Europe Shuttle (CES) Service, was launched at Yantian, with the deployment of S-type green vessels that meet the world's highest environmental standards.
On 18 April 2007, Dalang (Guangzhou) – Yantian Container Rail Service was launched by YICT and Hasbro, one of the world's well-known toys and games manufacturers.
On 7 April 2007, YICT welcomed the maiden vessel call of the 8,400-TEU "Maersk Seville" deployed by Maersk to its new European service, the Europe-Far East (AE10) Service Westbound (AE10W).
On 1 April 2007, YICT welcomed the commencement of a European service, the Europe-Far East (AE10) Service Eastbound (AE10E), operated by Maersk.
On 28 March 2007, an opening ceremony was held at the Ganzhou Railway Station to celebrate the first multi-modal inland cargo transportation service between Ganzhou and Shenzhen.
On 24 March 2007, Wan Hai Lines launched a new Asian service, the New Super 5 (NS5) Service, at Yantian.
On 22 March 2007, YICT welcomed the commencement of MSC's European service, the Lion Service Westbound (MLWB).
On 21 March 2007, YICT is pleased to announce that the third berth of its Expansion Project will commence trial operations soon after successfully passing all engineering and port administration inspections by the relevant governmental departments.
On 10 March 2007, YICT welcomed the new extended version of Maersk's Asia – Middle East network, the FM5 Service, which can significantly improve the transit time from China to Aqaba in Jordan by up to seven days.
