On 2 February 2003, Maersk Sealand’s vessel "Maersk Dammam" arrived at YICT, marking the commencement of the Middle-east service named TP5W.
On 24 January 2003, Evergreen’s “Ever Uranus” made an inaugural visit to YICT to commence the second Europe Service –WAEW operated by the Evergreen Group at YICT.
On 15 January 2003, Yantian Frontier Inspection and YICT signed a Memorandum of Co-operation on Managing Yantian Port.
At the beginning of 2003, COSCO, Yang Ming, “K” Line, Hanjin Shipping and Senator Lines reached an agreement to modify their services at Yantian.
YICT welcomed the launch of its first KSX Service for the New Year on the night of 2 January, 2003. The KSX is an intra-Asia service, jointly operated by Gold Star Line and KMTC.
On the afternoon of 30 November 2002, YICT held its second Family Day onboard the Minsk aircraft carrier, which is berthed in Sha Tou Jiao. About 4,000 staff members and their families took part.
On the morning of November 20, 2002, YICT and Shenzhen Customs officially signed a Memorandum of Co-operation to develop an East Platform at the 1/F Conference Room of YICT Administration Building.
On 19 November 2002, China Shipping’s vessel "CSCL FOS" arrived at YICT, marking the commencement of another US West Coast/Far-east service named AAS2.
